Poisoning and "nauseating odors": a Burger King closed in Franche-Comté

This measure is justified by "serious facts, likely to present a risk to the health of consumers" frequenting this restaurant located in a commercial area, on the outskirts of this town of 8,000 inhabitants, explained in a press release the prefect of Haute-Saône, Serge Jacob.
Inspectors who visited the site on Monday "found several serious failings," such as a "lack of hygiene in the premises, equipment and refrigerated areas," "nauseating odors in the preparation areas" and an "inability of staff to ensure the safety of foodstuffs," the prefecture explained.
The establishment will only be able to reopen when inspectors from the Departmental Directorate for Employment, Labor, Solidarity and Population Protection (DDETSPP) have confirmed that all necessary "corrective measures" have been implemented, the State services further indicated.
Contacted, Burger King's communications department indicated that it would respond later in the day.
